Get your mental health in motion - a week to be well

At Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, we help people struggling with mental health and addiction issues across the region, but we do not do this alone. It takes a strong community full of compassionate, caring people to end stigma and support individuals facing mental health challenges. Especially during these challenging times, together we are stronger.

During Mental Illness Awareness week, October 4th – October 10th, we are hosting “Get Your Mental Health in Motion – a week to be well." The week is chock full of mindfulness, wellness and physical activities to promote mental health for the entire family, culminating with a Choose your own adventure to get your mental health in motion on October 10th.

Ask your friends and neighbours for pledges and get together with those in your bubble to get moving for mental health. Participate in the activities throughout the week, and then choose your own adventure on October 10th: walk, run, yoga, kayak, wakeboard, paddleboard, bike, swim, jump rope.... the possibilities are endless.

Make your mental health, and the mental health of your community, a priority on this day. All funds raised will support our hospital’s COVID-19 response efforts, making it possible to meet the growing mental health needs brought on by the pandemic.
