North Simcoe Youth Wellness Hub delivers 32 Thanksgiving Dinners to local families in need
Recognizing the financial insecurity many families are facing because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the North Simcoe Youth Wellness Hub partnered with Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario to deliver 32 Thanksgiving dinners, complete with all the trimmings, to local families in need.
“Our most important relationships are established and strengthened over meals,” says Kelly McLaughlin, NSYWH Youth, Family and Community Engagement Lead. “The benefits of this thanksgiving dinner go far beyond the food itself by providing an opportunity for families to get together, create opportunities for meaningful conversation, and enjoy a delicious meal.”
A ‘how-to’ video created by the youth wellness hub team was also shared, giving the families step-by-step instructions on how to prepare their meal with the ingredients provided.
Many thanks to the Real Canadian Superstore Midland who assisted with the purchase of the meal components, and Waypoint’s Food Services for sourcing and storing the turkeys.
