Martyrs' Shrine Friendship Garden dedication
Martyrs' Shrine Friendship Garden dedication
Father Michael Knox, S.J. (Director, Martyrs' Shrine)
and Waypoint's Laurene Hilderley, Carol Lambie,
John Rodnick and Betty Valentine
Waypoint clients and staff attended a special Sunday mass in June at the Martyrs' Shrine that included a blessing for the new Friendship Garden at the sacred location.
Waypoint has been partnering with the Shrine over the last few years in various ways including helping to prepare the
400 acre property for visitors in the spring.
Earlier this year Fr Michael Knox, the Shrine’s Director, asked Waypoint and the four area municipalities to participate in a new Friendship Garden. The garden symbolizes the strong partnership of the six organizations in supporting our communities and those who live here.
Thousands of visitors come to the Shrine each year and with each “friendship garden” having its own sign, will now learn a little bit more about Waypoint when they visit.
