More than $70,000 raised at An Evening of Laughter
Guests and volunteers are still talking about Canadian comedian Jessica Holmes’ visit to Penetanguishene for an amazing weekend filled with laughter, great music, inspiring words and remarkable people at the Waypoint’s 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner on Mar. 2, 2018.
Thanks to the generosity of guests, sponsors, silent auction partners, staff and volunteers, the hospital raised more than $70,000. Fundraising at Waypoint is necessary to help purchase medical and patient recreation equipment, further the understanding of mental illness and addiction issues, fund research and support efforts to renovate and build more patient-centered, therapeutic environments across the hospital.

“I want to express my sincere appreciation to title sponsor TD Bank Group, our new platinum sponsor Honeywell, the many other sponsors, and all those involved in making our 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner such a resounding success”, said John Barrett-Hamilton, Chair of the Waypoint Board of Directors. “Selecting speakers who have an important message to share is a unique part of our formula for success. That formula is rounded out by the tremendous support we receive from our sponsors, suppliers, guests and the amazing crew of volunteers, most of whom are hospital staff. We couldn’t do it without each and every one of you! Thank you.”
In addition to the amazing performance at the fundraising dinner, Jessica returned to the hospital the next morning for two performances for patients who were thrilled to have the opportunity to participate.
