COVID Frontline Wellness

Healthcare workers are at the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Increased feelings of stress, worry and anxiety are normal under these conditions. It is important to recognize the impact of COVID-related stress on your well-being and build coping skills that can help you get and stay healthy. We can help.

If you are a healthcare/frontline worker or a first responder in our region impacted by stress related to COVID-19, you can get simple, fast access to supports and tools for your mental well-being with COVID Frontline Wellness.

What is the Frontline Wellness Program?
The Frontline Wellness Program connects health care and frontline workers and first responders with supports and access to services to help them enhance resilience during these stressful times and help manage mental health challenges.

How does it work?
This service is available by self-referral - simply complete the self-referral form at right and a clinician will contact you. This should only take about 5-10 minutes. Alternatively, call Waypoint's Central Intake at 705-549-3181, ext. 2308 or 1-877-341-4729, ext. 2308.

After conducting an initial intake, you will be scheduled for a 1-hour session with a therapist who will talk to you about your concerns and discuss a menu of services available to you including a flexible plan for brief therapy intervention and symptom management and support, as well as evidence-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and free counselling.

Who is this service for?
The Frontline Wellness Program is available to any health care worker in our region who has been impacted by stress related to COVID-19.

This includes anyone in any role – from direct patient care and patient/client support services to environmental and food services, administrative or management - affected by the pandemic whether from a hospital, health care or residential setting, or first responder service.

How will you ensure my confidentiality?
Waypoint is committed to protecting your personal health information through every aspect of our referral and assessment process and throughout your care.

Note: Five hospitals in Ontario, including Waypoint, are partnering with the Mental Health and Addictions Centre of Excellence at Ontario Health to provide assessment and referrals to frontline health care workers from across the province. For more information on these different resources, please visit COVID-19: Get support if you are a health care worker.
