Proceeds from Warden’s Golf Tournament slated for Waypoint and youth mental health

Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care extends its sincerest appreciation to the County of Simcoe and the Warden’s Golf Tournament organizers for being chosen to receive the proceeds from this year’s event.

“This is the 13th Annual Warden’s Golf Tournament and this year the event is being hosted at the Midland Golf and Country Club. Proceeds are in support of Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care,” said Warden Gerry Marshall. “The funds raised will assist in youth mental health efforts and as well Mental Health First Aid training. There are 93 hamlets, villages, towns and cities across the County and Waypoint’s initiatives will have a positive impact in each and every one of them. I am grateful for all that Waypoint brings to our communities and I am pleased to be able to assist in this fundraising effort.”

“One of Waypoint’s fundraising priorities is to raise funds to grow understanding of mental illness and reduce stigma including providing the Mental Health Commission of Canada’s two day Mental Health First Aid training to community partners,” said Waypoint Board Chair John Barrett-Hamilton. “Waypoint also collaborates across the region with many partners on system planning for child and youth mental health, as well as the Transitional Age Youth System of Supports partnership. Funds from the golf tournament will be used across the County with our partners to support activities that will improve mental health outcomes for youth.”
